About the Journal
The SoReMo initiative at Illinios Tech empowers students to enact the positive societal change they are passionate about within Illinios Tech, Chicago, and beyond.
SoReMo Fellows' projects are the cornerstone of the initiative, which supports, builds, and works to sustain Socially Responsible Modeling, Computation, and Design.
We publish an issue each time a cohort of Fellows completes a round of projects; each project report is peer-reviewed and subject-matter-expert reviewed. The inaugural issue is planned in June 2021.
Current Issue
This volume is dedicated to the projects that were developed and proposed in Fall 2025 and research carried out in Spring 2026.
This academic year's projects were generously supported by Dr. Michela Coffaro, a gift in memory of Josephine Coffaro and Leah Betts to support our collaboration with Keeler Gardens, and by a generous gift by Joel Krauss (MATH ’71), Board of Advisors Vice-Chair of CoC Board of Advisors. Running this initiative in 2026 would not have been possible without the support the faculty and by tireless advocacy of the College of Computing Dean Nicole Beebe. We also acknowledge Dean Jennifer De Winter's connecting us to Keeler Gardens.
